About Kim Costanza

Kim Costanza writes with the heart of a pastor, the soul of a musician, and the hands-on experience of someone who’s spent years walking alongside people in some of the world’s most diverse mission fields. For over a decade, he’s served as an ordained pastor and now leads Del Rey Ministries, an organization dedicated to equipping local pastors in the Dominican Republic with both theological training and practical support.

Current Work in Pittsburgh

His ministry path has taken some unexpected turns—including a recent calling to serve players in the MLB, working with the Baseball Chapel as the Spanish-speaking chaplain for the Pittsburgh Pirates. What began as learning a second language for overseas missions opened doors for ministry right in his hometown.

Music Ministry Highlight

Before stepping fully into ministry, Kim was a jazz saxophonist with a national platform in Christian music. His seven albums reached over 250,000 listeners, and he shared stages with artists like Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Rebecca St. James, and Ron Kenoly.

Having ministered across five countries and raised seven children with his wife Amy, Kim doesn’t just teach discipleship—he’s lived it. His writing is rooted in the deep conviction that when the message of Jesus takes hold, it transforms everything. Whether in a baseball dugout or the barrio, he’s seen firsthand how the “Jesus Seed” can flourish in the most surprising places.
